The 3rd preliminary took place on Saturday afternoon (European Time) and as expcted is was a large tournament. More than 500 participants took their chance and when all the dust came down GM Maxim Dlugy come out on the top. He scored 14 points from 17 games. To be on the top side of the cot, or to be one of the top ten players, you needed again 12,0 points and an extremely good tiebreak. For more details you might have a look at the crosstable. Here you might find sweet memories even you are one the players who just competed for the fun. Anf if you are interstested in real good blitz chess or like to see that are still people to beat you might have a look at the games.

The next preliminary, the forth one, will be on Monday 25th January, 20.00 CET. Monday evening is a regular palce for our weekly tournament in classical blitz and we hope that all the classical blitz are happy for the small change to 3 + 2. All other might try to start the week with an interesting blitz tournament.

Some words of explanation: The ELO is the serverating at the tournament start. If a player hast just registered on the server he/she might have no serverrating. The top ten players are given with their clearnames as the names are given in the personal information. They have not been checked for right spelling etc. .
